Day Seven: Island's first ever para powerlifter makes debut at Commonwealth Games

The Isle of Man's first ever para-powerlifting athlete has competed at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
Kim Dean was in the Lightweight Competition at the NEC this afternoon.
Powerlifting is a bench press competition, with athletes lying flat on a specially designed bench and then aiming to lower a horizontally weighted bar from arms length, to the chest and return the bar under control to the same starting position.
The 35-year-old from Port Erin had a clean lift in Round 1- 80kg and Round 2 - 84kg.
On her third challenge a no-lift was declared in the 87kg. She challenged the original decision, but her appeal was rejected by judges.
