Day Five: More Manx records broken in the pool

Tue, 02 Aug 2022

Another day at the Commonwealth Games and Team Isle of Man have been back at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre.

In the Men's 50m Freestyle Harry Robinson and Joel Watterson both came 6th in their heat, but failed to qualify for further rounds.

Despite this Joel broke the Island record by 0.1 of a second; a record he held. Meanwhile it was a new personal best for Harry.

Kiera Prentice came 2nd in her 50m Backstroke heat, with Emma Hodgson coming 7th but setting a new Manx record of 30.2.

Overall Hodgson was placed 18th and holds a second reserve place for the next round.

Next it was the turn of the mixed team relay event. The Isle of Man Team came in 4th, putting them on the reserve list for this evening's final.
