Nationwide Confirms Isle of Man Closure - 70 Jobs at risk

Nationwide International have confirmed that the Isle of Man Branch will close in Mid 2017.
The Society announced in May this year that up to 70 jobs were at risk as it had 'reviewed its operations'.
This is another blow to the Island's finance industry and is thought to be the last remaining building society locally.
Nationwide has published details of what this means for their customers. They say that no further products will be sold but existing accounts will operate as normal for now. They are reassuring customers that their money is safe.
But Nationwide have hinted that customers may be forced to close their accounts stating that 'they will write when action needs to be taken'.
Isle of Man residents will not have the option of transferring to another Nationwide Branch is not possible, unless the account holder is a UK resident.
