Injured wallaby rescued from the sea

Two police officers rescued an injured wallaby from the sea below Ballure Promenade in Ramsey this morning.

A concerned member of the public rang the local police station after seeing the animal go into the sea from The Arches.

The two officers waded into the sea, retrieved the wallaby and wrapped it in a thermal blanket before taking it to the vets.

Sadly the animal has a badly injured leg and it's anticipated it may not survive.
