An official agreement in recognition and support of those who have served in the British Forces could be brought in on the Isle of Man.

A public consultation has been launched to gather people’s views on whether an Armed Forces Community Covenant is wanted or needed here.

Similar covenants have been developed throughout the UK and are voluntary statements of mutual support between civilians and their armed forces.

The content for a Manx version would be up for the Island to decide – and responses from the consultation will be taken into account.
