Fire crews were called out to Port St Mary this morning after a car crashed through railings and was left hanging dangerously over a house below.
It happened on Bay View Road at around 7.30am.
The driver of the car had been removed from the vehicle before crews arrived.
The Ford Fiesta was secured to stop it toppling over the edge and then winched back onto the road.
Rescuers say the car had been extremely close to going over the edge and landing on a house around 15 metres below.
They say it was a lucky escape for everyone involved.
