Fish yard redevelopment will create 100 jobs

It's hoped further development of the fish yards in Peel will create over 100 jobs.

Over the coming years, the government is planning to invest in the area and aims to create what it calls the 'Isle of Man Food Park.'

The site on Mill Road has historically been a centre for the fish processing industry and recently other food producers have opened up business there.

The first phase of investment in infrastructure will release three sites, where 1500 square metres of factory floor space can be created.

DEFA Minister Phil Gawne says they already have new producers interested.
