No 'specific timeframe' for when Southern Pool will reopen

There is no “specific timeframe” for when the Southern Swimming Pool will reopen following its closure last week amid safety concerns.

The Board of the Pool made the decision to close the facility on December 14 when it was made aware of concerns with the Pool Hall lighting.

At present, the pool are awaiting more detailed information from its consultants, who are investigating the situation.

In a social media post the pool said: “Whilst we fully appreciate the community's desire for a definitive timeline to resolve these issues, regrettably, we do not have a specific timeframe to share at this moment. We are working to address these concerns as swiftly and effectively as possible. “

The Board expressed its gratitude to customers for their patience and understanding whilst it addresses the ongoing issues with the lighting system.
