Applications invited for 2024 Charities' capital cash boost

Thu, 19 Oct 2023

A helping hand is being offered to Island charities by Douglas City Centre Management.

It is inviting applications from organisations wishing to hold street collections and flag days in the capital in 2024, ahead of the deadline on Monday, November 6.

Applications will be accepted with bids for licences also considered in non-city centre areas of Douglas on a first-come, first-served basis.

Douglas City Centre Manager, Oliver Cheshire, believes charities are grateful for the support and customary generosity of Islanders.

He said: “We all know that, in the Island, charities undertake invaluable work which many residents wholeheartedly rely upon, including food banks, mental health and disability support, as well as those offering financial guidance.

“In these times when the cost of living is impacting on people’s income, with inflation and rising energy bills causing financial concerns, hopefully fundraising opportunities for good causes can go some way to help.”

Charities wishing to host a street collection and/or flag day can find out more information and download an application form by searching ‘Licensing’ at dtcm.im.

It is recommended that charities applying have public liability insurance cover of £2 million or above.
