Residents in the south haven't been directly consulted about Earystane windfarm plans

Mon, 09 Oct 2023

Residents in the south are ‘disappointed’ in Manx Utilities decision to prioritise the Earystane and Scards site for a windfarm.

Community member Kirrie Jenkins says nobody in the area was directly consulted about the plans and believes residents views need to be heard.

The MUA proposals include monitoring wind speeds with a Sonic Detection and Ranging Device (SODAR) for the next year as well as carrying out assessments in 12 areas.

Ms Jenkins says the government and the utilities body should consider the effects it could have on the local environment.
