Air Crash Wreckage to be transported to AAIB HQ

Investigations are continuing in to the crash of a light aircraft at Bradda Head on Monday.

The pilot, who was the only person onboard, was killed in the incident.

A spokesperson for the UK's Air Accident Investigation Branch told Energy FM, that the "on-site phase of their investigation is expected to be concluded by the end of the week".

The wreckage of the Cessna Centurion will be transported to the AAIB's Headquarters in Farnborough for further examination.

The spokesperson said that "the AAIB will continue to investigate the circumstances of this event and will publish a final report in due course. Field investigations take approximately 9-12 months to investigate. We do not provide routine updates while the investigation is ongoing unless there is specific safety learning that needs to be urgently communicated".
