Temperatures on the Isle of Man have broken records for June.

Forecasters at Ronaldsway Met Office said the official temperature reached 28.1 Celsius at 2:40pm at Ronaldsway Airport yesterday.

Senior Meterological Officer Adrian Cowin said: "This makes it the hottest June day at the airport since records began in 1947, and the second hottest day ever at this location. The previous highest temperature for any June day here was 27.5°C in 2018, but the hottest day for any month on record is 28.9°C from 12th July 1983."

"Another unusual feature about Tuesday 13th June, was that the humidity of the hot air dropped to only 21% by mid-afternoon, which is rare for any coastal location. The long-term average humidity at the Isle of Man Airport in June is 80%."
