Cross Country day at Kentucky brought disappointment for Yasmin Ingham and her mount Banzai Du Loir.

A tricky combination early on in the course at fence 6-abcd, a tall rail, steep drop down to an open ditch up a hill to two narrow brush fences on a short distance, caught out the pair giving them a costly 20 penalties. Ingham decided to continue around the course to gain further experience for them both, and Banzai gained in confidence the further round he went.

Apart from fence 10, where Banzai backed off a little at the first brush drop fence into water and Yasmin opted to take the longer route, Ingham rode all the direct routes as originally planned and although had taken her foot off the accelerator, Banzai still finished full of running.

Although initially disappointed when she finished, Ingham said there were lots of positives to take away from the round, and she is looking forward to show jumping tomorrow as this is her favourite discipline.
