Police warn of online scam

Police are warning of an online scam.

The force said they are aware of a post doing the rounds with a picture of a young girl with a red bow and the caption "Isle of Man: Concerns growing for 7-year-old girl missing for 24 hours as police issue..."

A spokesperson for Isle of Man Constabulary said: "It is not a genuine missing person on the Isle of Man and we would discourage anyone from clicking on the link or sharing it. Most modern browsers already highlight that it is a scam site."

"We rely on the Manx public to help us when it comes to searching for missing and vulnerable people and we'd hate for a truly missing person to be overshadowed by this."
