Port Erin Commissioners is encouraging residents to have their say on the future of the village.

Villagers can talk to the commissioners at a stall in the railway station up to 6pm today and an online consultation has been opened.

Children are also being encouraged to send in designs for their ideal town square and can submit 3D models, drawings or a collage to the commissioners office.

Betty Laurincova is the urban planner helping the commissioners: "There are people everywhere who have some interesting things to say and interesting ideas about what could be done in their public spaces. And sometimes I feel like maybe the traditional public consultations might miss some voices, but we’re trying to approach people through multiple channels."

Children are also encouraged to send in designs for their ideal town square and can submit 3D models, drawings or a collage to the commissioners office or by emailing competition@porterin.gov.im

The competition is open to individuals and teams with the deadline of the 28 April.

The winner will receive Visit Port Erin vouchers.
