Milk prices set to increase again

Tue, 15 Nov 2022

The price of milk is set to increase again on the Isle of Man.

The Milk Prices Order will be laid before Tynwald in December for approval of a small increase in the retail price of locally produced liquid milk on-Island from 1st January 2023.

If agreed, from the 1st January Isle of Man Creamery liquid milk prices will change as follows:

500ml bio based carton 80p
1 litre bio-based carton £1.45
1.75 litre bio-based carton £2.30

Isle of Man Creamery Managing Director, Findlay Macleod commented: ‘This year has been particularly hard for both individuals and businesses operating in these uncertain times. Operating costs throughout the dairy industry have increased significantly which has had a major impact on our business."

‘On farm there have been huge increases in the cost of producing milk, from fertilizer and feed to fuel and power. The compound effect of these rises over the year has resulted in increased pressure on our farmer producers."
