A resident in Pulrose feels that there has been an increase in anti-social behaviour.

 

The Local Democracy Reporting Service was sent a statement a resident who wished to remain anonymous.

 

The resident feels that the ‘significant increase’ is due to a lack of presence of security such as police patrols and CCTV.

 

Police have confirmed that they undertake patrols in the area.

 

Some of the alleged behaviour includes ‘large groups of teenagers causing issues such as dealing drugs’ and ‘kids who are dangerously riding electric scooters illegally’.

 

Douglas Borough Council leader, Claire Wells said: “We have got a very good relationship with the Eastern [neighbourhood policing] team.

 

“We do deal with specific issues and they do patrols around the area, if there have been reported issues.

 

“I would very much encourage people that if there is an issue, to phone the police and they will be dealing with it accordingly”.

 

The police were contacted for a comment but had not reached back before publication.
