Drone spotted during MGP Qualifying

Police were called to reports of a Drone being flown near the TT Course during the first MGP qualifying session.

It was seen in the area of St Ninians, Bray Hill and Quarterbridge Road.

Drones are prohibited within the whole inside of the TT course and to a distance of 1km outside the course when road closures are in force.

Anyone breaching the regulations could face a fine of up to £5000.

Greenlight Television has been authorised to fly drones during racing periods for the TV coverage, the use of which is coordinated with the medical rescue helicopter and race control.
