25 year old Manx Equestrian star Yasmin Ingham, has received her biggest call to date; to represent Great Britain at the FEI World Eventing Championships in Pratoni, Italy this September.

Yasmin received the call from Team GB Performance Manager Dickie Waygood this week and said of her selection:

“It is a huge honour to have been selected to represent Great Britain at next month’s World Championships, which will be my first Senior team appearance. I cannot thank Banzai’s owner Sue Davies enough for believing in me 8 years ago, and offering me the opportunity to ride for her at just 17 years old. I must also thank my incredible team at Pewit Stud, without them I would not be able to have the results I have had. I’m looking forward to getting out there and enjoying the event.”

Ingham has been selected for the team riding the 11 year-old French bred gelding, Banzai Du Loir, with whom she has consistently produced good results with over the last 12 months.

These include seven top 5 finishes at 4* / Advanced level, and that stunning second place at the prestigious Kentucky 5* Horse Trials in the spring.

Banzai, who is owned by Island resident Sue Davies, and her daughter Janette Chinn, is based at Pewit Stud in Cheshire where Yasmin trains and works full time. This is their fourth season together for the pairing.

Team GB are defending both team and individual glory from the last World Championships held in Tryon, North Carolina in 2018. Two of those team members, Tom McEwen and Rosalind Canter (who is also reigning individual World Champion), join Ingham on the squad.

McEwen was also part of last year’s Olympic Gold medal winning team, and brings forward his team stalwart, 15-year-old Toledo De Kerser. He will be looking to go one better than the individual silver medal he won at the Olympics last year.

Fellow Olympic Team Gold Medallists Laura Collett, this year’s Badminton champion with London 52, and World Number 1 Oliver Townend (multiple 5* winner) are also set to compete at the World Championships.

Banzai is due to start his journey to Italy on the 12th September with groom Alison Bell, and Yasmin will join them the following day.
