A landowner has called on the Government to reinstate river works teams in an effort to stop serious flooding.

Alf Caine from Castleward Farm in Braddan says that years of neglect of Rivers by the DOI, is putting lives and property in danger; Mr Caine says the Rivers are the DOI's responsibility.

In 2015 the River Glass burst its banks and flooded the Tromode Industrial Estate causing considerable damage.

The cause was a blockage at the Tromode Road Bridge and a build up of gravel bars.

Mr Caine says that the same thing will happen again if action isn't taken.
