200m of copper cable stolen from MER

Police are appealing for information after around 200 metres of copper cable was stolen overnight.

Yesterday, the power cables belonging to the Manx Electric Railway were brought down following a collision.

The cables were left by the roadside between Liverpool Arms and Baldrine.

The MER has been unable to operate a normal service and has been forced to cancel a special event.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Headquarters on 631212.
