Only a few weeks after her stunning second place finish at Kentucky, 25 year old Manx Equestrian rider Yasmin Ingham, has received her first call up to represent Team GB on a senior team.
The squad will be competing in the SAP Cup at the World Equestrian Festival being held in Aachen, Germany at the beginning of July.
CHIO Aachen is ranked as the number one equestrian event in Europe and is the only event in the world to host Nations Cup Prizes in 5 disciplines (Show Jumping, Dressage, Four-in-hand Driving, Eventing & Vaulting.)
The team of riders selected are some of the biggest names in British eventing: Sarah Bullimore (Corouet) is current individual European Bronze medallist, Ros Canter (Allstar B) is reigning World Champion, William Fox-Pitt is a multi-medallist across European, World & Olympic Championships and Tom McEwen (Toledo De Kerser) is Olympic Team Gold and Individual Silver medallist from Tokyo 2020.
Ingham is no stranger to success; prior to her outright win at Blenheim in September, she won double Pony European Gold in 2013 and she is the only person to have ever been crowned British National Champion at every age level, Under 16, under 18, under 21 & under 25.
The 25 year old from Greeba has now been selected to ride her Under 21 National Champion horse, 'Rehy DJ' who is owned by local resident Sue Davies & her daughter Janette Chinn.
The event gets underway on Friday 1st July with Dressage in the morning, followed by Show Jumping in the evening under the spot lights of the 40,000 seat Hauptstadion.
Cross Country beckons on Saturday morning, running through the grounds of the beautiful Aachen Soers.
Ingham told Energy FM News:
“I'm so excited to be selected for the British Team to compete at CHIO Aachen in Germany. It’s an incredibly prestigious event with many of the worlds best competing. The British Team is very strong and I’m really looking forward to the event in a few weeks time.”
