Island's first ever women's only bike maintenance evening next month

Tue, 08 Mar 2022

Cycle 360 has announced they will host the Isle of Man’s first ever women’s only bike maintenance evening to teach female cyclists basic bike safety checks and maintenance on Monday 4th April.

In aid of International Women’s Day today, Cycle 360 has announced the first of its Women’s Bike Maintenance Evenings, set to take place at Cycle 360 on Monday 4th April 2022.  This practical workshop evening is free of charge and will be a beginner’s course on maintaining bikes and repairing simple mechanical problems that may arise whilst out cycling on the road or on the trails.

Richard Cuffwright, Cycle 360’s workshop manager, said: ‘It is important to us at Cycle 360 that people feel confident and safe whilst out riding.  We regularly get riders telling us that the worry of getting a puncture or breaking their chain prevents them from riding alone or far from home.

He explained: ‘These mechanical issues are relatively simple fixes if you know how to do it and have the correct tools. So, we want to teach riders these skills in a hands-on workshop in a friendly environment to ultimately encourage more people to get out on their bikes with confidence!’

Attendees are asked to register for a free ticket via Eventbrite.  All are welcome to bring along their bike to practise on, or simply watch and listen.

The event will start at 6pm on Monday 4th April and will be roughly an hour long. The Cycle 360 cafe will be open for teas, coffees and cakes for any attendees to purchase if they wish.
