Pulrose Bridge: Changes to access arrangements from next week

Tue, 01 Mar 2022

The Department of Infrastructure has announced there will a significant change to access arrangements as the Pulrose Bridge works progress.

Changes will come into force from next Monday (7th).

Pulrose Road will reopen from Peel Road up as far as the access road to Middle River Industrial Estate fron ex. This will mean that vehicular access to Middle River, Power Station Gate 1 and the Bowl will be from Peel Road (ONLY). Isolated works will continue in this section to complete boundary walls and surface finishes etc. The available width at the entrance into Middle River will be limited so it will be necessary to control vehicle access at this point with temporary 2 way traffic lights

Pulrose Road will close to vehicular traffic to allow reconstruction work between Middle River Estate and the Shoprite warehouse. Access to the Shoprite Warehouse/Douglas Golf Club/Main NSC building and all of Pulrose will continue to be via New Castletown Road (ONLY)

Riverside Trading Estate will continue to be accessible via Hills Meadow for vehicles (ONLY) and pedestrian access will be available via the temporary steps opposite the Bowl car Park (NO CHANGE)

Pedestrian access through the whole site (between Pulrose and Peel Road, including Middle River, Riverside and the Bowl) will be available (NO CHANGE)

Diversion signs will be in place on Peel Road/vicinity of Quarterbridge/New Castletown Road and the Power Station Corner to guide traffic.
