DESC begins move to St John's

The Department of Education, Sport and Culture has started its phased move from Hamilton House in Douglas to its new home in St John’s.

The move is expected to take around 10 days and will see the DESC share one of the Island’s most eco-friendly buildings with the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.

A walk in counter service will be available at Thie Slieau Whallian (TSW) from Monday, so people can access all the usual DESC services without disruption.

The office sharing arrangement is line with Treasury’s building consolidation strategy, which aims to reduce the amount Government pays for office space, and will also reduce carbon emissions
