Warning over Amazon phone scam

People are being warned about a phone scam targeting Island residents.

The Office of Cybersecurity and Information Assistance (OCSIA) said it had received a number of tip-offs about a scam claiming to Amazon.

The scammer purports to be from the retailer and asks the caller to sort out difficulties surrounding a £1,000 purchase.

Advice from the OCSIA is to end the call and ignore the scammers.
