MLC welcomes Marine Drive Designation

MLC and long standing conservationist Bill Henderson has welcomed the decision to designate the whole of Marine Drive as an Area of Significant Scientific Interest.

"I am very pleased with this outcome", Mr. Henderson stated.

"I first put this proposal to DEFA some considerable time ago, outlining The Marine Drive’s natural heritage  importance, supplying outline maps of the land that should be encompassed by a designation, wildlife reports and animal species lists. To their credit, DEFA have acted upon this, recognising the wildlife significance of the area in terms of habitat and animals, including protected wild bird species, insects and lizards and Marine areas," Mr Henderson continued.
