Covid-19: Airlines given £3m support

Tue, 29 Dec 2020

The Isle of Man Government has spent more than £3m on supporting the island’s air routes during the pandemic.

The figure was revealed by Infrastructure Minister Tim Baker at the December sitting of Tynwald.

He confirmed that the money was used to underwrite the routes between March and November.

Mr Baker says that prior to the Coronavirus outbreak the DOI hasn’t given financial support to airlines serving the island.
