Scarlet fever cases reported on the island

Wed, 23 Dec 2020

The Department of Public Health reports that scarlet fever is currently circulating on the Isle of Man.

The illness is very infectious and mostly affects young children.

It’s easily treated with antibiotics.

The first signs of scarlet fever can be flu-like symptoms, including a high temperature, a sore throat and swollen neck glands.

A rash appears a few days later.
