Isle of Man borders to remain at Level 4

Tue, 22 Dec 2020

The Manx Government has confirmed the Island will remain at Level 4 regarding border restrictions.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle addressed the nation during a press conference this lunchtime.

He announced a number of travel restrictions following an increase in coronavirus transmission in the UK.

From midnight, all categories of exemptions for non-residents to travel to the Island are suspended until further notice.

People who have been issued with an exception certificate will be permitted to travel. No new exemptions will be allowed.

The suspension includes application for travel on compassionate grounds.

All returnees will be tested on the 1st and 10th day of self-isolation - testing will cost £50. People who do not purchase a test will have isolate for 21 days.

Officials have warned people need to be 'extremely vigilant' regarding the new variant of the COVID-19 virus in the UK.
