Police plea for sensible SuperManx Bank Holiday weekend

Thu, 27 Aug 2020

The Isle of Man Constabulary have issued a plea to the public to be responsible during what's been dubbed the SuperManx Bank Holiday weekend.

Majority of residents will have both Friday and Monday off work, with a number of events being put on around the Island for revellers to enjoy.

As well as live music and entertainment provided by numerous local authorities, the weekend also sees the return of Gran Fondo Isle of Man; one of the biggest cycling events in the British Isles.

Additional police resources are being deployed to ensure protection and safety at the various events taking place.

In a statement on Facebook, the Constabulary said: "Please play your part, don’t drink to excess, plan your journey home and please don’t become a burden on your emergency services that do have to work this weekend. We want people to have fun, to enjoy and remember this weekend for all the right reasons."
