Residents urged to stay indoors after chemical spill

Douglas residents are being urged to stay indoors following a chemical spill earlier today.

The incident took place on Ballafletcher Road by the Vehicle Testing Centre with the road now closed off between Tromode Road and Braddan Road.

Police are now working with the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service and are urging all residents in the vicinity to stay inside as a precautionary measure.

In a post on Facebook, the Isle of Man Constabulary said: "Isle of Man Constabulary Roads Policing Unit and Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service are currently dealing with an incident on Ballafletcher Road with the junction of the Vehicle Testing Centre due to a chemical spill, as a precautionary measure we are asking all residents in the area to go indoors, closing all windows and doors. We must stress this is a precautionary measure."
