An Ice Cream maker has been the subject of a vandalism attack after they announced they were reopening one of their outlets.

A Davisons delivery van had all four tyres slashed while parked outside the premises on Peel Promenade.

Staff were inside the shop when the attack took place on Friday evening.

Ian Davison told Energy FM News that he was very concerned about the incident and the fact someone was about the town with a bladed weapon.

The incident happened sometime between 9pm and 11.30pm when the police attended.

Mr Davison thinks the attack was in connection with negative social media comments where some people had vented their anger about the ice cream parlour reopening.

Anyone with information should contact the police.
