Fri, 20 Mar 2020

A number of supermarkets and shops on the Island have announced measures to help the elderly and vulnerable during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Shoprite will dedicate its first hour of opening on Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday. Stores in Douglas, Port Erin, Onchan, Ramsey and Peel will be opened to those over 70.

Tesco in Douglas will give priority to elderly and vulnerable customers between 9am and 10am on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays.

Marks and Spencers will open for the elderly only between 8am and 9am on Mondays and Thursdays.

They will also open for NHS and Emergency Services staff only between 8am and am on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Robinson's Fresh Foods has launched a Home Care Box Scheme this week for over 70s, those in self-isolation and NHS and emergency workers.
