Rates rise by 11p in Douglas

Wed, 29 Jan 2020

Ratepayers in Douglas will have to pay an extra 11 pence in the pound, after the council announced a 2.5 per cent increase.

The rate rise was announced by council leader David Christian today.

He’s blamed increased staffing costs and external charges for the hike.

It means the rate will go up to 444 pence in the pound from April, up from 433 pence.
