Residents in Laxey speak out about Glen Rd flood gate plans

A protest has been held this morning in Laxey by residents opposing a flood gate from being built.

 

The Ackerley family, whose house adjacent to the wall was badly affected by the Laxey flooding in October last year, called for the Department of Infrastructure to better address residents of what is happening on Glen Road regarding the wall unit works, including the flood gate.

 

Speaking to Energy FM, Andrew Smith from the Flood Action Group said he understands why people in the village are frustrated:
