IOM Green Party and Fare Free Campaign share views on Climate Action Plan

Two campaign groups have shared their views on the IOM Government's Climate Change Action Plan.

 

The IOM Green Party said that although they welcome the Plan, they consider that the objective of net zero emissions by 2050 entirely warps the reality of the challenges facing the Island's community and as a Biosphere.

 

Leader of the Isle of Man Green Party, Andrew Langan-Newton said: 'If every person in our Biosphere community is to be able to make informed choices on matters that will impact our future, the politicians must show leadership in setting out what we need to do as well as how long we have left to do it in.'

 

Meanwhile, the Fare Free Campaign has said the group remains 'cautiously optimistic', stating how if the Island adheres to the goals set out the community will be making big strides to alleviate people's carbon output.
