Michael Crowe appointed Friends of MNH Chairman

Tue, 17 Dec 2019

A new chairman has been appointed at Friends of Manx National Heritage.

Well-known local Accountant, Michael Crowe, has succeeded Robert Quayle in the post.

Michael is a former pupil of King William’s College and was a founder and partner, now retired, of the firm Crowe Morgan, Chartered Accountants.

Before becoming Chair, he served on the Board of FMNH for the past four years.

Michael said: 'I am delighted to be taking over from Robert and thank him for all his valuable work and support for the Friends over more than 30 years.  We face a number of interesting challenges in the years ahead, not least in ensuring that we continue to support the work of Manx National Heritage in as meaningful a way as possible.

'FMNH is assisting MNH with funding for the restoration of Thornbank, a terrace house in Douglas designed by the renowned Arts & Crafts architect MacKay Hugh Baillie Scott, which subject to planning will hopefully start soon; together with the new TT/Motorsport Gallery at the Manx Museum.  The restoration of the historic 18th century yacht Peggy will also be high on our list for support.'

The Friends have a website and Facebook page to enable members/volunteers and anyone interested to keep up to date with news and activities.
