Stormy weather causes travel disruption across Island

Tue, 10 Dec 2019

Today's stormy weather has disrupted travel on and off Island as well as around local roads.

This morning and afternoon sailings were cancelled between Heysham and Douglas, and numerous flights have been diverted or running late.

Trees have been falling across roads on the Poortown Rd near the Quarry, with DOI workers attending to a tree blocking the Switchback Rd near Knocksharry earlier,

An Amber Weather Warning remains in place until quarter past midnight tomorrow, with coastal overtopping likely to affect Fenella Beach in Peel and the eastern end of Peel Promenade for the evening's high tide.
