Almost 300 vehicles stopped during RPU checks

Almost 300 vehicles have been stopped during the Roads Policing Unit's annual winter checks.

Officers have stopped 291 vehicles between 28th October and 15th November, meaning the overall percentage was high.

Five vehicles were seized, 14 had defect offences, seven endorsable fixed penalty notices and seven fixed penalty notices were issued.

173 vehicles were recorded as being on the vehicle defect rectifiction scheme.
