Broadway junction reopens on Sunday
Thu, 31 Oct 2019
A busy junction in Central Douglas currently closed for refurbishment will re-open on Sunday.
On Broadway there will be a temporary junction arrangement - a T-junction controlled with a stop sign, with no traffic lights.
From Sunday, drivers can make either right or left turns and vehicles travelling south along the promenade will be able to turn right up Broadway again - something which hasn't been in place for several years.
Changes are being made to the junction of Church Road Marina at Greensill's Corner as work progresses on the installation of a new water main, with no access to turn right at this junction to vehicles heading southwards.
Works will continue for up to three weeks and more work will take place later in the project to create a roundabout near the Broadway junction.
Drivers wishing to access Church Road Marina or Market Street from the promenade should approach the junction by travelling north along Loch Promenade.
The north-bound taxi rank, disabled parking spaces and bus stop in front of the Sefton Hotel will not be affected.
