Police have recorded over half of vehicles checked this week are not suitable for road worthiness, after checks in two locations last night.
The Roads Policing Unit have begun their annual vehicle check campaign to inspect vehicles which aren't fit for the road.
They reported that over half of the 43 vehicles stopped had a defect, one of which was seized.
Police are reminding drivers to check before driving, as not doing so could lead to penalty points, fines, seizure and/or prosecution.
