IOM Police issued with tyre stingers

Isle of Man Police are being issued with tyre stingers following training with Lancashire Constabulary's Operational Driver Training.

They're a device designed to deflate a vehicle's tyres, which is used as an additional resource to stop drivers trying to escape police.

The Force said that stingers are being deployed in vehicles immediately, publishing a video on social media of a test from the past two day's training.

They said: 'The message is clear, if you're requested to stop by Police ensure you do, if not prepare to be stung.'
