Douglas Borough Council has added a new low-emission kerbside collection vehicle to its fleet.
The Euro 6-compliant vehicle has four collection compartments, holding paper, glass bottles, cans and plastic bottles, and a wheelie bin lifting mechanism to serve the Council's customers.
It's been added to encourage households to recycle, with awareness.raising messages on the side of the vehicle.
Recycling champion and Chair of the Environmental Services Committee Councillor Ritchie McNicholl said: ‘It’s clear there’s a willingness, in principle at least, among the people of the Isle of Man to recycle or to recycle more and I was interested to learn that in a recent Manx Radio survey “What Matters Most” concerns about recycling was a recurrent theme.'
