Red panda missing from Wildlife Park

Thu, 17 Oct 2019

A male red panda is missing from Curragh's Widlife Park.

In a social media post someone appealed to the Manx community about whether a red panda has escaped from the Wildlife Park, and if so for drivers and people walking dogs to be alert.

The Wildlife Park has confirmed that a male red panda is missing from the area, due to a tree which fell across the enclosure.

They are asking members of the public to contact them on 897323 or if spotted out of opening hours, Police Headquarters on 631212.

Park members searched the area outside of the park for hours but there is currently no sign of the animal.

Kathleen Graham said: 'If drivers driving past the park could please slow down and take due care, in case the red panda comes back across the road.

'Red panda's are very hardy and there's plenty of berries this time of the year. We're hoping that he should come back to us soon.'
