Castle Rushen High School outdoor sport development to be displayed

Plans for a new outdoor sports facility at Castle Rushen High School will be displayed to the public later this week.
The proposed development will be displayed on Thursday 17th October between 3.30pm and 7.00pm in the school library.
It forms the first phase of the Isle of Man Government’s planned new build for the school.
New outdoor sports facilities include playing fields, a total of four football pitches, two for under 17/18 games and two for under 11/12 games, a cricket pitch with artificial wicket and cricket nets.
Representatives from the Department of Education, Sport and Culture, the design team and the school will be available to explain the proposals and answer questions from the public. .’
Facilities would be built in a field located directly adjacent to the north-west boundary of the existing playing fields.
The scheme includes full land drainage for the new playing fields, and pipework which will be installed under the pitches to link to a ground source heat pump as part of the heating system for the new school.
Temporary access from Arbory Road to the construction site will be created through a farm field.
