A long serving member of the RNLI has celebrated his retirement with a special reception.
Neal Corran joined the lifeboat charity in 1973, serving as shore crew and became part of the crew the following year.
He then went on to become Coxswain in 1985, taking on his brother Robert Corran MBE's position in 2003 before retiring.
Douglas lifeboat Patron, His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, Sir Richard Gozney, accompanied by Lady Gozney, presented Neal with his RNLI Certificate of Service. Also in attendance were, His Worshipful the Mayor of Douglas, Mr Councillor Jon Joughin, J.P. with the Mayoress, Mrs. Angela Joughin, and the Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK.
The opportunity was also taken to present Donald Bottomley with a RNLI Certificate of Service, who had been a volunteer crewman on the Douglas life boat since 2000 until his retirement earlier this year.
