Phone scam warning from Police
Fri, 11 Oct 2019
Police are warning residents of a scam after two reports of a similar nature.
They're asking people to be aware of a man, who's identity is unknown, calling from a private number, who stated that he found a note on his car alleging that it was left by the person he calls.
The man goes on to say that they have hit his car and left a note on his windscreen with their phone number and name.
He also asks the caller for full personal details, including insurance information.
Police say anyone who receives a call should not provide any personal details and hang up.
