Residents of Laxey affected by the floods last week are now able to apply for an ex gratia payment of £500 from Government.
The payment is designed to assist with immediate recovery costs, such as accommodation and other expenses, and applicants are invited to submit their claim immediately.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK said: ‘After consulting with the Treasury Minister, I am able to announce this payment, which I hope will provide some immediate relief for the affected residents.
'The exceptional nature of this situation requires us to move quickly and we are using the template of similar recovery schemes in the UK to provide a degree of respite.'
To apply for the special grant, visit the dedicated Laxey Flooding page on the Isle of Man Government website.
