Parking rules will be enforced later this month at Nobles Hospital for the first time.
Hospital parking areas will be subject to standard law enforcement policies and actively policed, including a requirement that only those with appropriate permits will be entitled to use disabled parking spaces.
Penalties such as fines will be issued to anyone who breaches the new rules.
The Order, which will be brought into force through powers held by the Department of Infrastructure, also means that vehicles can be checked for in-date tax discs and drivers penalised for parking in restricted areas.
It's being enforced to ensure fair and practical parking rules are understood by staff, patients and visitors, and in light of concerns that disabled parking bays are being used by those without a permit to.
All parking areas on the hospital site will be affected by the Order with the exception of the car parks at Isle of Man Hospice and Manannan Court.
